Quotes we've heard:
"If your
clients had seen this, as we did in the
Detroit Auto Show, I tell you that they
would also be in here in numbers, leaving a
deposit just as we are. This is an
outstanding vehicle — the release pictures
don't begin to do it justice."
The Volvo XC90 promises to be
one of the hottest new automotive developments
in recent history -- and our requests for
information are reflecting that. As the time
is drawing near, because we are beginning to
field requests for information more and more
rapidly, we have designed this page as one
single source to give you the very latest
in information as we have it: Stay tuned here
for the most current of release
information.

Perhaps, begin with these two
links -- but please see the Current Updates
below:
-
Volvo's
main
US website for XC90 information: a
very good page for design, features,
specifications, and what's to be expected
in the new SUV.
-
For those who would like
additional information on the XC90, click here for
some slightly different information
from The
Volvo, UK XC90
splash page. For whatever reason, the British
XC90 page has more information than the US
page -- including 360º
views! Worth perusing.

Need a brochure?
Full brochures are out. These
are very comprehensive (including color
choices), and we'd be happy to provide you
with one: Contact us.
—If you've not already seen it, Volvo's XC90
website is probably the very best way to
review the various options and pricing levels
of the XC90. Take a look at the various
options and configurations. ..And we would
hope that you would contact us here when the
time comes for purchase, after your review.
August 22, 2002 Full pricing release.
Full pricing was released
today for the XC90, as well as some delivery
timing. And today, we received our allocation
of "configurable cars." What this
means is that we are beginning today to
specify how we want to configure our XC90's.
These configured (and mostly pre-ordered) cars
are scheduled to be here around mid-October.
Now, the Volvo National XC90
Launch is scheduled for November first. We are
scheduled to have XC's here to see and drive,
around early-to-mid October. (If you're in our
area of Florida, Volvo's national Team will be
here for us on Wednesday, November 6 -- This is going to
be a major event. Plan on attending! Please
also ask for me -- Don, from VolvoVacation --
when you do.) But, back to the national
information...
Of the several XC90's that we
are allocated, because we are now beginning to
configure these cars as of today, slots held
by deposit are going quickly. This is a good
time to contact us
to leave a deposit, and to be in the first
wave of people receiving the XC90. These cars
will be here around mid-October, available for
sale on November first. (Be one of the first
to receive one!)
The Overseas pricing also came
today; and surprisingly, is not
any lower than the domestic pricing — as we
had anticipated. Nonetheless, there are some
advantages to the Overseas plan: free airfare
and vacation to Europe, with one night's hotel
stay, and the opportunity for memories of a
lifetime. We have more information on this
that time will permit to put here, so again,
contact us.
Finally, I have a link page
that gives the full XC90 pricing; both
domestic and overseas. I've attempted a nifty
spreadsheet that will interactively price your
car for you, and this may or may not work
well. (Feel free to please give me feedback on
this particular item.) But, at the very least,
it will give you the full pricing for the
various options. Again, finally, feel
free to contact me
with any questions you may have.

Pricing Release Page.

August 8, 2002 Pricing!
And unbelievably low, as
well! As of an announcement August 5, pricing
is released for the XC90 for delivery in
November. Lower than anyone expected, the
pricing for the Five-cylinder Turbo engine is
$35,170! For the AWD T6, with
leather seating, power moonroof, and an
in-dash 6-CD changer, is $39,975. There will
be available a non-AWD version in first
quarter, priced at $33,350. Wow! Who expected?
The full release can be seen by clicking on this
link for the announcement.

August 1, 2002
As time will begin
to get close to release date, we expect to get
information more frequently from Volvo.
Meanwhile, what we are hearing at this point
is that release will be around November here
in the US. This will put it about one month
behind the release for the rest of the model
line.
Latest
information from the Overseas Delivery program
is that there are still XC90's allocated for
this program. Also, the earliest date for
delivery there would be November, but you may
want to consider the other valuable benefits
that would come from this program. Again, with
any questions, contact
us.

May 30, 2002 -- cars now available for
order!
OK, as of this date,
we've now gotten the first word -- again from
Volvo's Overseas Department -- that Volvo
XC90's are now available for order. In their
words: "Overseas Delivery has received 50
production slots for delivery in Europe during
the fourth quarter of 2002. ...You can expect
an update from us when final prices,
specifications are available in the local
market."
This is great
news. Translated, it means that the Overseas
Delivery department has received a promise of
50 allocated-for-sale XC90's. Now, this number
is nationwide, so this allocation will
go very quickly. Hopefully, you heard it here
first. These will go on a nationwide
first come, first served basis, but we will
have allocation to us until this number fills.
Call us now for information on order
and travel.
Order details
are: Upon verbal order, we call the Overseas
Department and secure the order place for you.
After the verbal order, we then have 72 hours
to receive and submit the $2,000 deposit, or
the reservation is lost.

May 10, 2002 -- information promised soon.
We have not yet
received pricing information; or release date
information. However, as of this date we are
told, in a memo to the Overseas Delivery
department, that "shortly, we will
receive information.." about status of
availability (for OSD.). This memo implies to
me that we will probably be getting a release
of information soon.
At this date,
we are still expecting a launch at the
beginning of the model year: late September,
early October, 2002..
